Petition on new housing and infrastructure

When new housing development is approved, it will often put strain on local facilities (for example doctors' surgeries) and services such as roads and sewage treatment works. In part this is because development consent is granted at a local level (by the District Council in our case) while the infrastructure is planned and developed by a higher-tier authority like the County Council, National Highways, the NHS or a water company that covers a huge area. But it also reflects a lack of coherent strategic planning.

As a result, services and infrastructure perpetually lag behind demand. We believe this needs to change, and if you agree we ask you to put your name to our petition which we will present to our Member of Parliament.
