Buses4Us poster arrayFollowing the axing of the Stagecoach 132 route and most of the 32 route beyond Newent to Ross, we have the go-ahead for a trial 26-week shopper service to connect Dymock and Kilcot & Gorsley residents to Newent, twice a week. Details of timetable and days to follow shortly. The first 13 weeks are being funded by Gloucestershire County Council and further funding is being sourced from local councils, businesses and crowdfunding.
***MEANWHILE*** please fill in the survey to provide the information needed to try to get a more comprehensive service running in the longer term between Ross, Ledbury and Newent.
Take a look at the full-page advert in the most recent edition of Newent's free magazine, New-Ad, for more details of what is currently available (eg Dial-A-Ride, taxi services).
You can find the survey at https://www.buses4us.org/survey/ or pick up a hard copy at the following places and return it to the same place for pick-up or post it to c/o Newent Town Council:
Newent Library
Gorsley Community Shop
The Road Maker Inn
Kilcot Inn
The Beauchamp Arms
Dymock Garage Shop
Gill Moseley, County Councillor for the Newent Division commented: "I am very pleased that we have been able to secure this trial shopper service which will be run by Newent Community Transport. It is not the permanent solution we are aiming for, but it will help keep residents in nearby viollages, who have no other means of transport, from being cut off from essential services.
